About Us

Ferguslie Park Housing Association (FPHA) is an independent community-based housing association governed by a volunteer Management Board.

Ferguslie Park Housing Association’s vision is for a vibrant community which leads its own future and values the work we do in support of this. We wanted to encapsulate all of this into a short simple vision statement which serves to remind us of our role and our ultimate goal, namely:

"Serving the Community - Valued by the Community"

We are a registered social landlord and a society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014. We have been a registered Scottish Charity since 2003 and do not distribute our surpluses, but rather, we reinvest these for the benefit of our current and future customers.

What We Do

Ferguslie Park Housing Association exists to provide a range of good quality houses for rent in response to the various and particular housing needs in Renfrewshire, particularly in Ferguslie Park area.

The Association provides housing, and sensitive and responsive housing services and rents that are affordable for people with low incomes.

We manage, repair and maintain houses and their surroundings to a standard that will sustain their value, usefulness and appeal to tenants.

FPHA is a membership organisation. Local people pay one pound to buy a share in the Association. The shareholders own the Association and elect the Management Board from among their members.

We actively encourage our tenants to participate in the work of the Association and to become involved in supporting their community.

The Association promotes economic regeneration and social inclusion in Ferguslie Park through improved housing, better environmental conditions and local employment opportunities.

For the long-term benefit of the community and our tenants, we ensure that our business is sustainable through effective financial, administrative and human resources systems.

As a social landlord, we are regulated by the independent Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) and we are also regulated by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).

SHR is the independent regulator and registrar of social landlords in Scotland. OSCR is the independent regulator and registrar for Scottish charities. The HOUSING (SCOTLAND) ACT 2010 section 137 requires the SHR and OSCR agree how they will work together in relation to, exchange information about, and avoid unnecessary duplication in their inquiries about charitable RSLs, when carrying out their respective regulatory functions.

This agreement must be set out in a memorandum, which must be publicised.
